You ride for one full hour, (1/2 hr. Minis) in small groups--horses are tacked and ready for you when you arrive. The only equipment you'll need is a hard soled shoe with a heel, like a work boot. We have helmets that meet the latest safety standards, but if you go on riding, you should purchase your own helmet. (Inexpensive).
Riding is safe and structured here -- celebrating our 33rd Anniversary -- our school has been operating continuously on Clapboard Hill Road since 1992.
We have helmets, but if you continue to ride, you might want to check out these companies for riding helmets and other equipment:
STATELINE TACK or DOVER SADDLERY
Co-Owner-Master Instructor Jill Walter-Robinson
is the gold standard of teaching riding -- this is her 55th year in the ring, and she is nationally acknowledged as one of the sport's most talented instructors. We are so lucky to have longtime alumns , Molly Prior Celia Conning, Maya Thomson and Mia Casertano teaching; they have ridden here for more than 10 years.
We are well known for our fun, professional program and laid-back family atmosphere. Dozens of our young people have grown up here and become professional riders, polo players, stable owners and managers, veterinarians, (and vegetarians), farriers, and equine scientists. Lifelong friendships have grown just from being together for a class. And, mothers who rode here as children are now bringing their own children here to ride. (Help! We're getting old).
