The Guilford Riding School offers group lessons for adults, young adults, children and we even have a special program called Mini-Mights for kids age 5-8. You will ride in our large outdoor arena next to a spring-fed pond graced by a weeping willow, or in inclement weather, in our Indoor arena. Friends and family can watch from our amphitheater hillside or snuggle-up in our heated observation area.
Our lessons are structured so that you will never be disappointed. Mini-Mights ride for a half-hour in a group of three on our oldest and quietest horses. Children and young adults ride for an hour in a group no larger than five. Adult lessons are in the mornings and at 6 or 7 p.m., and some Saturday slots -- adult lesson groups are usually smaller.
Please see our Current Program page for specifics. Our staff will have your horse tacked and ready for you when you arrive; our experienced and talented instructors will help you to enjoy your lessons while you learn.
Students can learn to volunteer in the stables one day week by taking and passing our 6 week apprentice course. For kids age 10-16, must be riding at GRS for at least one 10 week series.
GRS Eventing Team
We welcome beginners, those with some experience and advanced riders. Our instructors and top riders form the GRS Eventing Team --they compete in dressage, cross-country and stadium jumping. Six of our twelve school horses event at Novice level in New England's USEA Area One.
GRS Schooling Shows
